Double Head Slot Milling & Notch Milling SPM
- A rigid stress relieved and fabricated structural.
- Atop the base, a hydraulic, auto-clamping fixture
- At LH of the fixture, a vertical milling head is mounted on a hydraulic compound slide having cross and longitudinal slide is mounted .
- This milling head has an end mill mounted.
- On the RH for the fixture, a hydraulic longitudinal slide is mounted with a vertical milling head having woodruff cutter.
- Machine is provided with complete machine enclosure.
- Recirculating coolant system is provided.
- Centralized lubrication system to all sliding surfaces.
- All sliding surfaces made of LM guides and blocks.
- PLC programmed auto cycle.
Sequence of operation:
- Load the job and press auto cycle.
- Job gets clamped.
- The the longitudinal slide of the LH moves in to plunge the end mill into the job. Then the cross slide moves the end mill to trace the profile of the notch and the longitudinal slide returns back.
- Now the RH head moves the woodruff cutter to mill the slot.
- All slides return home & Job de-clamps.
Eindconclusie:
- The cycle time for complete machining operation is 75 seconds.
- The customer could cope up with the demand and produce per hour requirement.
- A costly VMC can be used for other job.
- CNC operator was avoided thereby reducing the labor cost.
- This amounted to reduced cost with increased productivity.
